The fourth daughter of His Majesty the Sultan and Yang di Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam and Her Majesty Raja Isteri Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha, HRH Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah is one of the founders of Miftah An-Nur Islamic International School, alongside her husband YAM Pengiran Anak Haji Muhammad Ruzaini bin Pengiran Dr Haji Mohd Yakub.
Her Highness is well versed in the value of international education, having obtained an MBA from the University of Durham in the UK, which followed her MA in International Business from the University of Hertfordshire, and a degree in Business Administration from the University Brunei Darussalam.
After starting a career as a finance officer for the Ministry of Finance at the Brunei Investment Agency, Her Highness went in business with her husband in 2017, launching Miftah An-Nur and other children-related ventures, as well as the Zahara Charity Foundation that supports and provides for the less fortunate in Brunei and overseas. As a mother of four and proud Bruneian, Her Highness is honoured to be involved with projects that support the development of the country and its young people.
Following a successful and varied public sector career, YAM Pengiran Anak Haji Muhammad Ruzaini bin Pengiran Dr Haji Mohd Yakub launched Miftah An-Nur Islamic International School in 2017, alongside his wife HRH Princess Hajah Hafizah Sururul Bolkiah.
In 2013 he left his governmental post to follow his business aspirations, establishing several companies in education, real estate, IT solutions, and other industries. Committed to professional learning and development, he also went on to obtain an MBA from the University of Leicester in the UK.
Today, in tandem with Her Highness, Pengiran Anak strives to benefit Brunei through Miftah An-Nur and other projects, including the Zahara Charity Foundation that he runs with his wife.

I am pleased and honoured to welcome you to Miftah An-Nur Islamic International School. With the grace of Allah Most High, our aim is to raise generations of Muslims to live the beauty of Islam, being successful and thriving global citizens.
Miftah An-Nur Islamic International School is the first of its kind in Brunei Darussalam. Our educational program integrates international best practices and standards with traditional Islamic values and etiquette. We achieve excellence in our teaching and learning while fostering Islamic values in our students through our dedicated and nurturing facilitators. Moreover, we are a school that aims for mastery in three core languages: English, Malay, and Arabic. These skills will set our graduates apart in the rapidly changing global environment.
The spiritual, emotional, physical and intellectual faculties of our learners are developed based on the nurturing Islamic principles of tarbiyyah. This inclusive and holistic approach to the development of children allows our learners to be confident and well-rounded individuals.
Our staff and students are encouraged to be God-conscious and responsible global citizens, acting upon the verse of the Holy Quran, “It is He Who has appointed you vicegerent over the earth” (6:165). This Divine responsibility drives our intention to instill excellence in our service to mankind, while having humility in successes, sincerity in actions and gratitude for our countless blessings. Our core values stem from the hadith of our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, “Love for humanity what you love for yourself.”
